Over the last few years, it's become harder and harder for me to call myself an artist. Lately I've called myself a student, a web developer, a partier, a slacker, and a stoner. I miss the creative drive that I was given by my teachers in high school.

5 years later, I've realized the inability of the Graphic Communication Major at Cal Poly to push creativity. It turns out the major is more about running printing presses than anything else, an unfortunate pile of bullshit to wade through to get to the juicy design classes, which are few and far between.

After taking AP Art during Senior year in high school, I hit the ground running, but the curriculum in the GRC major was so slow that I tripped. I can still say with infinite confidence that I learned more about art and design in high school than I did in university.

Fortunately, I can draw some feeling of success from the idea that the GRC major is the middle-ground between Computer Science and Graphic Design, and the emphasis on running print companies provided me with invaluable knowledge about business management that's missing from the Graphic Design major.

Even so, I've grown envious of my fellow students who chose to major in Graphic Design and minor in GRC. My hope is that I can coast on my high school education and pick up where I left off.

So to get to the point... a couple years ago, my experience in the GRC major coupled with my disenchantment with Devart lead me to kill off much of my art in some kind of FUCK EVERYTHING temper-tantrum.

It's been a while since I routinely submitted pieces to Devart, but I think it's time to be reborn and catch up creatively.

That said, heads up for some re-posts. If you've been watching for a while, you might recognize these, otherwise, have fun checking out some of my older art, and stay tuned for newer stuff.
